I am blessed to have two daughters and an amazing wife that is guiding them thru life as they become women. I recently saw Rihanna’s album cover and I was saddened because another influential young lady was showing off her precious body again. I then reflected back on other popular young ladies (Paris Hilton, Vanessa Hudgens, Adrienne Bailon, etc…) that had naked or racy photos of themselves on the internet. I wanted my wife’s perspective on the issue and this is how she responded.

“It’s deception, a lie. It doesn’t really show strength and power. Matter of fact it is false empowerment. I think women are searching for a way to express their feelings and some choose this type of liberation. Don’t get me wrong, making the decision to show your body isn’t easy and generates a strong feeling of liberation, but it is still a lie. Such a bold move causes others not see the intentions behind your decision, but just a shell or the surface of your decision, just your body. People don’t see the inner growth, and strength, that is why its false. It is widely accepted because men, at the end of the day, will just be drooling over your so called artistic pics. They just see and feel the gratification of your pics. Many will not get the message or see the message more important than those pictures. Just as a women’s clothes are stripped off, so does the nakedness strip away the power of the message. It devalues it.”

I think that sums it up. Young ladies keep it on, young men, quit being perverted, it may get you in some serious trouble.

Recently there has been an unprecedented outbreak of HIV among the Porn Industry and it is saddening. The reason why it is sad is because this isn’t national news. It’s not national news because porn, like, cigarets, and alcohol are as American as cyanide laced “apple pie”. I say cyanide laced because those items stated in the latter appeal to our insatiable desire to feel good, but they have destroyed more lives through addiction than any designer drugs.

Porn is promoted in a boys life as glimpse into manhood. It is presented to girls as a goal to become. What did society think this was going to evolve into, since the hype is that everything evolves. Did they think this form of sexual liberation was going to promote healthy relationships? Instead we have porn fulfilling every GROTESQUE fantasy imaginable. It has been a combustible ingredient in rape, incest, perverse sex acts, sex trafficking, pimping, prostitution, premarital intercourse, etc….

The truth about porn is that it is perverse and a breeding ground for sexually transmitted disease. We know diseases are transmitted thru bodily fluids yet we drown ourselves in the fantasy on our phones, internet, and televisions. We disregard the reality of the possibility of death and sterility being passed from scene to scene. The truth about porn is that they are actors, and no person in their right mind would enjoy the demeaning positions and situations these scenes demand. The truth about strip clubs is that the women don’t enjoy their body parts being fondled, poked, and violated for dollars. The truth about porn is that it brings in money. It brings in money for the women whose self-esteem is so messed up they believe this is all they can do and it compels them to keep doing it.
