Congratulations to all parents (regardless of what kind) that are blessed enough to have a gift from almighty God called “Child”. This statement from gifted artist Ne-yo really disturbed me:

“I have a friend. Not a girlfriend. She’s carrying my child but knows I can’t commit. She doesn’t mind other women.” [SOURCE]

Children are a blessing from God. We as a nation are allowing our own selfish acts to “evolve” an already effective mold for raising children. Pleasure or a moment of passion seems to be the way a lot of children are being conceived. We’ve got movies and actors warped since of family being broadcast all over the world. This video caught my attention because I am passionate for our up and coming generation, American or abroad. I am firmly convinced that this current adult generation is absorbed in self and advancing materialistic causes at any cost. This attitude does not permeate through out, but at times it is the loudest and most seen.

I have three children (2, 7, 9) and what amazes my wife and I is that we have to have a serious conversation about SEX with our oldest. The regular old 1950’s birds and bees talk just doesn’t cut it anymore. We have to intercept dialogue that might be presented by their peers about masturbation, anal and oral sex. All this at the innocent age of 7 and 9. For just a moment, take off the go with the times or what’s currently accepted blinders and consider the impact of our sex-crazed America.

Some may say what impact? Think about the statistical rise in pedophiles, teenage pregnancy, rape, incest, sexually transmitted diseases, molestation, etc… These statistics began to rise as the culture began to evolve the guidelines of when sex was acceptable. The evolution of the guidelines cheapened and devalued sex. An act that was as sacred as a Da Vinci painting became as common as knock off at your local Walmart. Sex as the Holy Bible instructs should be restricted to the confines of marriage. This parameter kept many of theses statistical spikes from occurring so abruptly. Sex is expressed the most free when done between a man and women committed to each other with the covenant of “till death do us part”.

God created this union so a couple could mentally, spiritually, and physically experience sex with no regrets. We have been manipulated to think that sex is a dirty act that God frowns upon. Why would the creator of the act frown upon it. Truth be told God is pleased when a couple understands what marriage is and displays this love for each other by committing an act where they become one. We have tainted this powerful and beautiful expression with PORN. We have allowed this abomination to be massed produced and communicated. We have allowed this abomination to accelerate the destruction of the innocence of our children. A child’s innocent mind cannot make up the sexual acts that have been horribly practiced on them, and they in turn mimic on others.

As for me and my house, we will follow the LORD”S guidelines. We will be fierce protectors of our children’s innocence. We will take on the persecutors that will call us backwards, outdated, and teach our kids to value their bodies. God willing we will present to another man or women their life mate, saved for them. My final question is, will you continue to go with the status quo, or will you seek the truth? A generation is waiting on you to choose.

This is a touchy subject because you have a small segment of individuals (gay community) that believe they have a right to have their union acknowledged legally. The current mindset concerning values and morality has also allowed this subject and others (abortion, atheism, religion, marijuana, etc…) to, in a way, “evolve”. Many of us are living under the mindset that whatever allows us to feel good or doesn’t bother our way of life is acceptable. This apathetic stance is deceiving us to believe that life cannot have a steadfast structure in critical areas. This apathetic stance makes us arrogantly believe that we can question structures that have successfully thrived for many years around the world.

A natural relationship between man and woman, and the commitment called marriage to establish the most effective environment for family, is one structure man has consistently challenged. Just because we chose to deviate or alter from something because we are bored of it, or have experienced failure while trying to apply it, doesn’t mean it needs to change. Heterosexual marriages work half the time, in America, and some have horror stories. This is a dysfunction of those of us that have allowed whatever situation or circumstance, self inflicted or otherwise, destroy our marriages. God, the creator, the man up stairs, etc.. stated in Genesis that he created man. Then he created a woman to be his mate, and God instructed them to be fruitful and multiply.

This natural structure of relationship has proven to be effective by the billions of births that have occurred to populate the world. Marriage, devalued and demonized by some aspects of media, individuals of status, and television, rarely gets the same spotlight when it works. In the new testament God continues to justify His structure thru his son Jesus The Christ and states:

Matthew 19:4-6 (New Living Translation)
4 “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’[a] 5 And he said, ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’[b] 6 Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”

In this text he talks about a holy union and how it should be between one man, one woman, and no one (no person, or group of persons) should split apart God’s structure. This union is also the perfect environment for children to be raised. This nuclear family provides the child with views from both sexes and guidance on committed, faithful relationships. Marriage provides children with consistent teachers that are suppose to train them, and mold them into effective, contributing adults that love GOD as well. Any one that studies families will tell you that the nuclear family is the ideal structure for a child to grow up in. What we need to do is believe in God’s plan concerning relationships, marriage and family because it works.

Male and female relationships joined together in a union called marriage is the perfect for our children. Same sex marriages would still leave out the other biological parent, who also represents the other perspective. An influential figure of the opposite sex has not proven to be effective. You can see that thru single parent homes trying to compensate with that same rationale. They will tell you it doesn’t work as well as having the other parent and being in a faithful, loving marriage.

Unconditional love and displaying love is always wanted and received. That isn’t the issue, the structure in how this unconditional love is displayed is.

Looking at the state of our adult generation today, I can’t help but at times be troubled. We cannot be so blinded by our own selfish ambition that we don’t see our part in the dysfunction of the generations coming behind us. Now before you stereotype this article as another bash on young people, hold your horses. This up and coming generation is full of bright stars just beginning to expose their brilliant shine. I am calling our adult generations to step up and mentor thru words and lifestyle.

Titus 2:1-8 (NIV) at the end of this article, is a biblical example of what we in the christian faith have been instructed to do concerning the mentoring relationship between generations. The answer to the problem isn’t just after school programs, and youth facilities. The most important part of the equation are consistent, prevalent, examples of maturity, character, and integrity being displayed in our adult generation. We are saturated with the greedy, sexually explicit, uncaring and irresponsible adults. One can see that on a variety of money making reality shows.

Will you answer the call, take personal inventory of your life, and take out the garbage or will you continue to act like livestock and wallow in filth? A generation is waiting.

1You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. 2Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
3Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

6Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
