Hello I’m J and I am an addict. My addiction believe it or not started during my childhood and I have been feeding it ever since. I get a strong urge that seems to consume me until I feed my compulsion. I am ashamed to admit it but I have done things that have disrespected my family, friends, and at times co-workers. This addiction has at times allowed my mind to rationalize immoral behavior just to experience the next fix. My addiction is the catalyst that drives individuals to drugs, alcohol, and sex. My addiction is to myself.

Selfishness, in my opinion, is the need to fulfill every impulse, rational or irrational. This characteristics starts in the sandbox, when you snatch another kids toy because you want it. Good parents guide you thru this process and establish guidelines and coping mechanisms. Then you become a hormone imbalanced teenager. This is the stage that ones selfish endeavors lead to greater exploration and at times greater penalties. We either learn from our mistakes and re-establish/pick up new coping mechanisms or embrace the role of rebellious teen. It is at this pivital point that the mindset of it’s all about me or I understand that I will not get all I want is established. It’s at this point where we choose to deal with the emotions of rejection and disappointment or mask it with a substance or a pleasurable yet destructive behavior.

Morality, the belief in God, (that God not being ourselves) and the worshiping of Him steers us from selfishness. Worship services identify the flaw in selfishness and the arrogance of considering that we are quite capable of living life without help from our creator. I am a recovering addict from myself. I thank God for his Holy Bible which leads and guides my every move. I thank God that He is tolerant of my mistakes and believes in the purpose He placed in me. I also thank God for true friends and family that ground me in reality and support me in life.

President Obama has been in office over 100 days and it has been a whirlwind. Being the first African-American, minority, mixed (because his mother was white) leader means that everyday of this presidency is historical. I think we fail to realize that he and his family are under extreme scrutiny because of the magnitude being “first”. Let us also not haphazardly brush over the fact he and his staff took office during a recession, war, housing crisis, credit over haul, etc…

I think this 100 plus days has also exposed the true face of our country. The election of Obama displayed how far we have progressed, but the consistent pressure on every move he makes shows some of our countries deep seated fears come to the surface as well. A minority leading us through the muck and mire of potentially country altering situations is a nightmare for some. The same questions that have plagued minorities in every cerebral or professional endeavor have been asked, “Are you really smart enough, can your minority make-up really handle governmental, business, and professional problems on this level, etc…” Before you stop reading, really think about the level of questioning, and scrutiny he has undergone. We act like in the history of our country he is the only one that didn’t have an enormous amount of political experience, or has taken the country during a recession, or a war. This hasn’t been our worst recession and the decisions he and his staff are making will not be the worst one’s in our nations history. What about all the President’s that promoted slavery, racism, and sexism, when they had the opportunity to correct these blatant human right issues. What about a president getting caught in sexual promiscuity and missing the opportunity to get Bin Laden. This former president is praised by all walks of life as a great President to this day. Some individuals are saying President Obama and his staff are doing to much, and that is really crazy. We are so used to a president making appearances and speeches, that we have forgotten how a president looks going the extra mile.

All I am saying is that everybody should be given the chance to become whatever their decisions will leave as their legacy. Instead of creating negative atmosphere lets do what 1 Timothy 2:1-3 (message bible)

“The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.”

Lets pray, seek God for all leadership that they do well, so we can live the best way possible. For all my atheist associates, be optimistic and lets not make bad situations worse. God bless, and guide America, President Obama and all leaders to steer us into peace and prosperity!

I love how Israel always finds a way to reinvent himself while at the same time gives us just what we need to lift our spirits. I hope that even if you have never heard of Israel that you would give him a few minutes of your time and watch this. I promise you that its worth it.

RPM- Glad to have you here on FlyMoguls.com, let’s start with you telling us a your name and where are you from?

CD- My name is Claude L. Harris Jr., born and raised in Augusta Ga.

RPM- We want to start at the root of things..how was your childhood growing up?

CD- Childhood was filled w/ great memories. Alot of musical memories…because my mom can really sing and would always sing around the house. My sister and i just followed suit!

RPM- Wow that’s amazing! I see talent runs in the family.

RPM-Tell us about some of the changes that success has brought to your life.

CD- There have been alot of changes in my life and i’m truly grateful for them… i have met alot of awesome people that i’ve been able to learn from and call friend. When there are changes in your life, sometimes the people around you change as well. So just be ready!

RPM- What have you found to be the greatest hurdle that you have faced on your journey to success?

CD- The greatest hurdle on this journey to success is SELF! You have to condition your mind for greatness. Because I’m sold out to Jesus, i rely totally on guidance from the Father! When i lean to my own understanding, that’s when problems can overtake me!

RPM- Now here on Fly Moguls we have a belief that who you surround yourself with makes a difference in how you achieve your goals, was there a time where you had to cut some people loose for the good of your career?

CD- Yes, there’s always something you have to “give up” or “lose” when you’re being elevated. They’re just like rocket boosters. When a rocket launches, the boosters will fall off as the rocket reaches certain elevations because the boosters have only one purpose. To help boost the rocket.

RPM- People always look for a quick fix to success, we all know that it never really happens like that. What advice would you give to someone trying to come up like you?

CD- Research your field/craft/passion! Knowledge is extremely powerful!

RPM- With the economy in a restructure setting, what adjustments have you made to ensure that you stay successful?

CD- I chose not to participate in the recession. I’m just so focused on my duties that God has continued to prosper my company!

CD- Well, i have the album “The Young Elder” dropping in stores everywhere on July 14th! The video for the single ” It Ain’t Over” is in rotation on Gospel Music Channel and i’m working on a mixtape for all of the artists currently rocking the Livin’ It Brand! Livin’ It Productions, Inc. is my production label!

RPM- I have to ask, Who are your 5 greatest influences?

CD- 5 greatest influences are Jesus Christ, Claude Harris, Sr., Regina Harris, David Karangu and anyone doing it BIG on a positive level!
