First of all great speech. President Obama hit upon all the points that anyone in their right mind would talk about. He covered jobs extensively, touched on health care, and acknowledged subjects like sexuality in the military, and the Supreme Court’s judgement on campaign dollars. The problem is, we the people are tired of rhetoric and pretty speeches. I believe our president is more than talk, but it is our elected officials that are still playing party games.

We the people must do a better job of staying in touch with our elected officials and hold them accountable. Our country isn’t experiencing this level of turmoil because of Obama and his administration. These issues have been years in the making by both parties. What we need are elected officials that have a genuine concern for the stability of our society, prosperity of our industries and safety of our country. That means when these elected officials are up for re-election, we research their results, demand more televised or open debates, and show up at the polls. Until this happens, this selfish, greedy, bureaucratic, environment that has plagued our democratic process will continue to fester.
