Here at RP Movement we love to connect and meet other young cats blazing the trails for Christ. We have been fortunate to cross paths with I AM YOUTH inc. founded and ran by Mrs. Tashawna Johnson- Carter ( aka StarchildMusic). She has used her platform to touch youth all around her. Tashawna is working towards her I AM YOUTH conference in the summer of 2010. I spoke with her about the purpose and mission of IAY. and she informed me with this:

I AM YOUTH INC., most commonly referred to as I AM YOUTH, is dedicated to providing tools that will educate, empower and inspire youth to achieve their dreams despite the wars they experience in their personal lives, in their families, and in their communities.

Vision
Create world changers, void of compromise, with an awareness of truth, and love, through spirituality, and educational empowerment that can be exercised in daily living and is not limited to race, class, or gender.

War Zones
For our youth, pregnancies have become a growing trend within the last 5 years. Crime and Violence has increased within metropolitan areas and within the urban communities, causing an overwhelming amount of deaths. Education, even with is great significance, has been replaced with drugs, promiscuity, and entertainment that is absent of the ability to psychologically stimulate the minds of our youth and enable them to make good decisions. The American family is a reality of the past, a structure and unit that is missed in our present, and a necessary group that is hoped for in the future of our culture. Our Youth are at war! I AM YOUTH will aggressively enter the war zones by primarily focusing on the following areas:
Education
Economic Development and Empowerment
Health (including AIDS/HIV awareness)
Relationships (family, church/religious affiliation, peer to peer)
Career Training and Assistance
Spiritual Growth and relevant application
Tactics
I AM YOUTH is aware of the need to be attractive and strategic in order to best serve this peculiar generation. With no limits or boundaries placed on how to actively engage and affect youth, the following will be the common methods used to fulfill the I AM YOUTH mission.

Workshops
Rallies/Summits
Concerts/Tours
Television/Radio specials
City Wide Events (i.e. Community service)
Newsletters and Social Networks
Future Goals
I AM YOUTH will have head quarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and in Panama City, Florida.

I AM YOUTH groups will be set up all around the country and led by various trained individuals who are well capable of carrying out the mission of the I AM YOUTH in their local communities.
Build an I AM YOUTH CENTER to house major events, conferences, and provide local services to surrounding communities

Founders/Staff Thoughts
Please join us in shaping, equipping, and providing tools for an incredible generation. Our youth are highly gifted, greatly wounded, and undeniably deserving of endless support and guidance from people who are filled with compassion for the youth in our society. Thank you in advance for teaming up with a wonderful group of people who are on a mission that changes the future.

So as you can see the homie has her cards laid out and in order. We are gonna support IAY with all that God has blessed us with. Its time for the body of Christ to act just like that.. as the BODY. We have to stop picking and choosing what we accept and what we don’t. If its not lining up God will deal with it, but I’m crazy enough to believe that with the life I live and with the Power of the God I serve that ANY situation can CHANGE immediately IF we declare it to be so. With that said.. be on the look out for I AM YOUTH and RP MOVEMENT joining forces to take the devil out.
