This post is to empathize with all those associated with the Ft. Hood and Orlando shootings, and the gruesome discovery of murdered victims in Cleveland’s house of horrors. At times we are in such a hurry to find an explanation, we don’t give enough time to properly grieve and mourn. At times we are so caught up in getting revenge that we don’t invest enough in prevention.
There will be plenty of media outlets that will give you all the information desired to know, we want to go another route. We want to encourage you to be aware of your environment mentally, spiritually, and physically. We encourage you to acknowledge signs (personal and our neighbors) that display distress or pain and seek out help. We encourage you not to ignore these signs, awaiting someone else to notice or deal with them, but you become proactive.
Proverbs 16:32 (Contemporary English Version)
32Controlling your temper
is better than being a hero
who captures a city.
Meditate on this biblical principle and work on developing healthy emotions thru professional means, worship, etc… Anger seems to be a common catalyst that has fueled our nations recent news topping incidents. It’s time we give this emotion its respect and also a valiant effort to learn to manage it. Pray for all those suffering lose, actively love on those that are special in your life and try and mend broken relationships with forgiveness.
